Paul Hooijschuur

An open attitude. Good listener. True problem solving together with the client. All of this ensures that engineer P.G. (Paul) Hooijschuur's clients are always satisfied at the conclusion of his projects.

Paul has worked at Pieters Bouwtechniek since 1994. He has worked himself up to the position of Branch Director in Haarlem. Paul is still a structural designer, as are all of the Directors at Pieters, and a BIM Coordinator. Direct contact with the execution of a project is an absolute must for properly fulfilling the role of designer, in his opinion. He views the professional competence and open atmosphere that prevail at Pieters Bouwtechniek as very positive. Many details are discussed—tuning is essential.

The diversity of the projects provides variation. Furthermore, the building of public utilities gives Paul extra inspiration. It is a challenge for him to solve the puzzle of a combined project. Such as in the Mövenpick Hotel in Amsterdam, where the functionalities of a parking garage, a bus terminal loop, meeting rooms, offices and sleeping accommodations all come together in one building.

Paul's expertise: precast concrete, foundation pits and basements and damage reports.
