Rijks and Jorismavo wins Nijmegen Architecture Prize
School campus Het Rijks and Jorismavo is the winner of the Architectuurprijs Nijmegen.
VMBO Het Rijks (and Jorismavo)
The existing VMBO Het Rijks campus will be radically renovated and renovated. In addition, approximately 7,000 m2 GFA of the existing building will be reused, and approximately 4,000 m2 GFA of new construction will be added. The campus will house the VMBO and the Jorismavo and offers sports facilities that will be accommodated in a new triple gym.
Pieters Bouwtechniek is the main structural engineer for this project from the preliminary design phase up to and including realization. The design work started in the last quarter of 2017, during which we investigated various alternatives for the construction of the new building and for the constructive interventions in the existing building.
Nijmegen Architecture Prize
The Nijmegen Architecture Center (ACN) organized the Nijmegen Architecture Prize for the 8th time on behalf of the Municipality of Nijmegen. With this prize, the Architecture Center wants to promote the quality of architecture in Nijmegen, encourage good commissioning and bring the quality of architecture to the attention of a wide audience.
