Timber structures placed at King Willem I College
Construction of the first phase of the renovation of the Koning Willem I College has started. The groundwork is ready and the impressive wooden construction is placed.
With the new building, Koning Willem I College brings together various MBO locations on the Education Boulevard. Ultimately, this will create two large campuses: a campus on the Onderwijsboulevard and a campus on the Vlijmenseweg. The absolute eye-catcher of the project is the new entrance building, which will be placed in front of the existing building. What is special is that the five-storey entrance building has a fully wooden supporting structure. This makes it one of the first buildings in the Netherlands to use such a construction on this scale.
For this project, we work together with architect Nieuwe Architecten, contractor Heerkens van Bavel and timber supplier Heko Spanten.
Heerkens van Bavel posted a nice video on the site.
