Realization agreement signed by KC in Stedum

On 17 October 2018 alderman Schollema signed the realization agreement of the child center in Stedum on behalf of the municipality of Loppersum, Mr Huiges on behalf of BV Bouwbedrijf Kooi Appingedam and Mr Boorsma on behalf of ITBB BV. After signing the agreement, the construction of the new child center will start immediately. From 2019, shelter and education can be found under one roof for children aged 0-12 years.

The starting point for the design of the child center is that it must be ready for the future: earthquake resistant, suitable for new forms of education, flexible in design and thus calculated on the future.

The new child center will provide space for cooperation school De Klaver and childcare Kids2b. It is being built north of the Hilmaarweg in Stedum, on the edge of the village and the landscape. The building was designed by KAW and is characterized by its multifunctional character, adaptability and appropriate village appearance. Sustainability is also being thought of: the building will become almost energy-neutral, partly through the use of Heat Cold Storage in the soil and solar panels on the roof.

The municipality of Loppersum will receive a total of three new child centers. The construction of the centers in Loppersum and in Middelstum started a few months ago. All three child centers will be delivered in the course of 2019.
