Project CLV in full development
Since a few weeks, demolition and stripping has begun at the Christelijk Lyceum project in Veenendaal. At the location where the current building was opened more than fifty years ago, a modern, future-oriented and (almost) energy-neutral building will be taken into use in August 2020. With respect for the past.
A special aspect of the renovation concerns the involvement of the students in the project. The CLV also wanted to give her students the necessary sense of sustainability and involved them early in the renovation. They are particularly encouraged in the new course NWO (Natural Science Research) to think about sustainability and conduct various studies in the field of green energy, waste processing, reuse of materials and energy consumption. The best ideas are included in the renovated building.
The aim is to make the main building almost energy neutral. In addition, the new CLV main building will become gasless. All measures taken together should lead to the new school emitting 50 to 60 percent less CO2 than the old school.
