Pieters structural engineer renovation Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen

Pieters Bouwtechniek is the structural engineer for the renovation of Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen. Pieters Bouwtechniek is very pleased to start the design process. The jury was very pleased with the proposed working method to realize the renovation, restoration and new construction, taking into account the complexity of the assignment. The monumental buildings are restored to their former glory. The focus is on a better museum experience, a connection between the museum, museum park and the city of Rotterdam, and on the restoration and sustainability of the monumental buildings.

Mecanoo architects is the architect associated with the project. Building physics consultant is Deerns i.c.m. ZRi.In the coming months, the design team will further develop the design for the renovation of the museum in collaboration with the Municipality of Rotterdam and Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen.The Municipality of Rotterdam is currently preparing to make the museum building asbestos-free. The actual renovation will start in 2022. The renovated museum is expected to reopen in 2026.
