Delivery Woodstack, Veluwe

5 February 2024

Woodstack, a wooden house on the Veluwe, was recently completed. The design by Studio AAAN from Rotterdam resembles a pile of drywood, balancing in the landscape. The property covers 40 m2 and consists of a bright living room with kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and roof terrace and is suitable for 2 people.

The light filters in through the wooden beams, creating a special light. The design is inspired by the Swiss pavilion at the world expo by the famous architect Peter Zumthor.

Thanks to two steel HEA240 balance beams, founded on steel tubular piles, the house can cantilever over the rolling landscape. The structure also consists of a lightweight steel construction, concealed in the HSB walls, to make the cantilever as strong and stiff as possible.
