Opening Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences, Kralingse Zoom

The new building for Rotterdam Business School at Kralingse Zoom was officially opened on Wednesday, October 11. An energy-neutral building of 14,000 m2, designed by Paul de Ruiter Architects. It was built by Heerkens van Bavel. Pieters Bouwtechniek was responsible for the construction advice. Design started in 2020 and the project was completed a few months ago.

The load-bearing construction is made of steel, the finish and the inner walls are made of wood.

The new building replaces an existing building that had to be demolished due to its fire-hazard facade. Together with two previous building parts, the building forms the entire complex of the University of Applied Sciences at Kralingse Zoom. The atria flow beautifully into each other and glass walkways on the floors connect the different building parts.
