Wooden trusses of Marktplein Church are standing

11 July 2024

The expansion of the Marktpleinkerk in Hoofddorp is clearly starting to take shape. The characteristic wooden trusses, an important part of the new design, are now standing.

After years of preparation and a successful start of construction in February 2024, progress is clearly visible. The wooden trusses, which form a connection between the old and the new part of the church, give the building a unique character.

The expansion provides additional space for meetings and activities, and includes facilities such as a heat pump for sustainable heating and cooling. The Protestant Municipality of Hoofddorp is expected to be able to use the new spaces at Easter 2025.

This development is essential for the future of the community. The expansion offers more space for meetings and modern facilities, while the historic character of the Market Square Church is preserved.

An important milestone has been reached with the completion of the wooden trusses and construction is progressing according to schedule.

InforMeer (the news website of the Municipality of Haarlemmermeer) published an interesting article about the church.
