Innovation: Hi-Con Cold bending
By using the new technique of cold bending, these types of bridges for light traffic can be made from a single element, in variable radius of curvature, instead of various straight panels.
In collaboration with Pieters Bouwtechniek, Hi-Con has developed a technique that you can use to bend your concrete. This technique, known as Hi-Con Cold bending, makes it possible to design a sleek and arched bridge at an affordable price.
With Hi-Con Cold bending, the client has additional options for a slim and arched design of his bridge, at a price that is competitive to a simple straight bridge. Both customers who choose a Design & Construct bridge, and customers who choose the existing Delft bridge system with Hi-Con bridge deck, can benefit from this new development.
