First cast-in-place basement WLG Smartlofts

Yesterday the construction of the WLG Smartlofts in Amsterdam was launched with a bang. One of three residential buildings to be built on the Westlandgracht within the inner ring road around Amsterdam.

Two future residents were chosen to assist with the initial casting work by helping to pour the basement foundation blocks. Soon, the starting pistol will also be fired for the construction of the third, neighbouring residential building, the Pondok. Pieters Bouwtechniek was also responsible for the structural design of this building.

Pondok will have eight floors and will contain space for 30 apartments. Final completion is anticipated for the first quarter of 2018. The building was designed by space&matter.
