Construction of Stadionpark Rotterdam will start this summer

In South Rotterdam, construction will start this summer for a new educational and sports facility in the Stadionpark. Commissioned by the municipality of Rotterdam the team, consisting of BDG Architects, RROG stedenbouw en landschap, Pieters Bouwtechniek en engineering firm Deerns, designed a sustainable and future-oriented educational and sports facility. This project marks the first development at Varkenoord, the former training fields of football club Feijenoord, to actually be carried out.

Stadionpark will be a green, car-free neighborhood where sports, living, education and working come together. It includes two high schools with sports profile, an indoor sports facility in a park-like outdoor area with squares and gardens. The facade will have a robust brick architecture and special details. The design is characterized by flexibility and future-proofness.

The construction is being carried out by Wijnen Bouwgroep as contractor and Terberg Totaal as installer.
