3D modelling

At Pieters, we started designing our structures in 3D some time ago. We were one of the first to adopt AutoCAD at the end of the 1980s and the whole organisation subsequently switched to 3D modelling with software programs like AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla and Dynamo at the earliest opportunity. This is because working with lifelike models of our projects offers many advantages, particularly in the design phase: design decisions can be taken faster and failure costs are significantly lower.

We even have all the necessary expertise in-house for creating customised plug-ins for Revit. We continue to extend the use of 3D within our organisation. For example, structural engineers review projects in a 3D environment, rather than studying drawings. And we are increasingly able to optimise advanced and complex structures via automated links between our calculation models and drawing models.
