  • Renovation of the Haringvliet Bridge, Numansdorp in the Infrastructure category
  • The Stairs of the Hill, Sant Josep de sa Talaia in the Characteristic Steel Building Components category
  • The Steel Reuse Award goes to LAB42, Amsterdam
  • Amsterdam South Connection auxiliary heating plant
  • The Amsterdam South Connection auxiliary heating plant was built on behalf of Vattenfall and supplies Amsterdam's district heating network. It is located in the triangle between the A4 motorway and the A10 ring road and the metro and train tracks.

Amsterdam South Connection auxiliary heeating plant
The key element in the concept of the auxiliary heating plant is a hot water buffer of 3,600 cubic metres. This buffer ensures that heat from AEB can be stored, to be delivered to the Zuideramstel and Nieuw West districts behind it when there is demand. The auxiliary heating plant facilitates the growth of the district heating network, increases the security of supply, guarantees the necessary greening of heat generation, increases the capacity and improves the flexibility of heat generation (multi source). The construction consists of a low and high roof with the buffer tank behind it.

Statenjachtstraat, Amsterdam
In Amsterdam Noord, an existing tower block owned by Eigen Haard has been completely renovated to meet modern requirements. New apartments have been added to the block, consisting of 2 and 3 room apartments. The block of 112 apartments and 15 storeys high, received a total of 49 new apartments at the ends. A light steel construction was designed for this with channel plate floors of only 150 mm high, in order to remain within the building height of the existing block of flats.

Villa Meijendel in Wassenaar
Villa Meijendel is located in the wooded dune area of Wassenaar. Glass facades all around and a skylight over almost the entire length fill the villa with daylight.

The house is completely focused on experiencing the elements and the environment. A restrained, minimalist and pure design fits in with this. It has a long, narrow, rectangular floor plan and has three floors, of which the lowest floor has been almost completely pushed into the dune. At the front there is a garage and hall by the front door.
