Start of next phase of Water Tower in Zandvoort

The next phase of the work on the Water Tower festively started on Thursday, May 23, 2024. Future residents, together with councilor Jan-Jaap de Kloet, were the first to 'tip over' a piece of the old facade of the water tower.

The Water Tower is now largely covered in scaffolding and will be completely covered in scaffolding in the coming weeks. Then work will start on removing the top part of the tower and removing the facade, which is in very poor condition. The new Water Tower will be 10% larger and higher, but the developer's plans take into account the monumental status of the Water Tower and the value of the tower for the area. The well-known shape of the tower is therefore retained.

After the festive start of the work, organized by developer Fakton, all buyers and other parties involved were able to receive a brick from the old facade. The brick has a special print as a souvenir.
