Margraten Cemetery Visitor Center open

On December 11, 2023, the American Battle Monuments Commission (ABMC) opened its 10th Visitor Center at the American Cemetery in Margraten, Netherlands. This center, open to the public from December 12, 2023, was inaugurated in the presence of dignitaries, including US Ambassador Shefali Razdan Duggal, ABMC Secretary Charles K. Djou, Governor Emile Roemer and Mayor Alain Krijnen.

The center houses an exhibition that highlights the special bond between the Netherlands and the US.

The exhibition space offers a moving journey through crucial military campaigns, such as Operation Market Garden, and lesser-known operations in the Netherlands, Germany and Central Europe. Featuring original artifacts and personal stories, the center highlights the sacrifices, challenges and triumphs of American service members.

The center focuses on uncovering often overlooked campaigns that contributed to Allied victory. It invites visitors to discover the stories of courage and perseverance that led to freedom.
