Lifting moment rafters Theater aan de Parade
The new pride of Den Bosch will soon arise on the square next to St. John's Cathedral: the new Theater aan de Parade. Pieters Bouwtechniek is involved as the structural designer of the building, which is to become the city's new multifunctional, cultural meeting place. Construction is currently in full swing.
The halls in the building, connected to the central void, will be suitable for different types of events and performances. The rooms connect to the central void in the heart of the building. The foyer that surrounds it can be divided into sub-spaces and can be merged with the halls. A glass front on the square side of the building, where the theater café and the botanical garden will be located, creates a better connection between inside and outside. The latter is also a huge improvement compared to the current situation.
The video below nicely illustrates how the rafters are hoisted in.
