Update construction The Minister, Rijswijk

The Winston Churchill Tower, the office building on the corner of Sir Winston Churchilllaan and Prinses Beatrixlaan in Rijswijk, will be transformed into a residential tower, The Minister. Construction is going fast. The installations are being finalized in the basement. The first residents are expected to be able to move into their new home in the first quarter of 2023. The owner-occupied homes will be completed around December 2022 and the rental homes around January 2023.

The building has a ground floor plus 21 floors and a total of 22,855 m2. 220 apartments will be realized in the building. It has a parking garage behind the building with 440 parking spaces.

The existing office building is more than 70 meters high and consists of a concrete construction poured in place. The offices are built around a stability core in the middle of the building. The existing construction consists of a concrete skeleton poured in-situ and is fully reused.

3 new building layers will be added in steel construction with a steel plate-concrete floor. In order to realize this, the original top floor, where the installations were housed, was demolished.
