Christelijk Lyceum in Veenendaal
The Christelijk Lyceum in Veenendaal consists of a number of buildings. The main building and the gymnasiums are in need of renovation. The concept of reuse is central to the school. The new building is formed by a three-storey volume with an atrium as the social heart, flanked by two existing buildings from the 1960s to be renovated. The building is designed in such a way that it has a clear social heart. All rooms are situated around an atrium. In this atrium there is room for meeting, an overview is created and you can catch a glimpse of what is happening in the learning areas above. The stairs are multifunctional in use as learning landscapes; they can be used for performances, meetings, parents' evenings, they function as learning places and at the same time the stairs near the auditorium can be used as a break room.
