Renovation of eight apartment blocks in Overschie

Eight portico flats in Overschie are being extensively renovated. Together they form the Welschen 2 project. The 285 rental homes will soon fully meet today's requirements. The whole neighborhood is getting better. The first block - 1B - is now out of the scaffolding, block 1C is busy. After the construction section, you start with blocks 2B and 2C.

Modern, energy efficient and social living
The flats on Patijnstraat, Van Noortwijckstraat and Van Adrichemweg together form the Welschen 2 project.

The first 84 homes in Patijnstraat are now being renovated. The work started in August 2020. These are social housing and they will remain so. A total of 320 rental homes that are now in poor condition will be converted into 285 modern homes. There will be room for different types of households: from singles to families.

We are now renovating the homes for smaller households. There will also be houses with an elevator, which are suitable for people who have difficulty climbing stairs. The larger two-storey houses will be built in the flats at van Noortwijckstraat and Van Adrichemweg. Homes that offer space for the whole family. It fits in Overschie, where work is being done on mixed neighborhoods with a higher quality of living. The renovation of all homes is expected to be completed in 2024.

This results in the conversion:
