Porter's lodge in Amsterdam winner Arie Keppler Prize

The Porters' Lodge on the Westergasfabriek site in Amsterdam is a winner of the Arie Keppler Prize in the 'Everyday becomes sublime' category. Other winners are SET Amsterdam in the 'Social cement' category, De Hooihuisboerderij in Landsmeer in the 'Agricultural Heritage' category and Jerusalem in Amsterdam in the Neighborhood Repair category. The audience award went to the Sint Laurentiuskerk in Weesp.

The Arie Keppler Prize
The Arie Keppler Prize, organized by  Stichting MOOI Noord-Holland, puts inspiring projects in the North Holland living environment of the past two years in the spotlight.

The aim of the prize is to highlight policy developments and realized projects in the field of architecture, urban planning, landscape and heritage with exemplary significance.

Porter's lodge Westergasfabriekterrein, Amsterdam
For a long time there has been a desire to replace the temporary porter's unit on the site of the Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam with a permanent porter's lodge, which does justice to the monumental buildings and park-like surroundings in terms of appearance. The new porter's lodge is situated in the axis of the row of trees in front of the monumental buildings of the Conscious Hotel, level with the head of De Bakkerswinkel.

The porter's lodge offers space for two porters, a kitchen, toilet, installations and storage space. The project is part of the redevelopment of the entrance area of ​​the Westergasfabriek site.
